Davide Aurilia – Designer

I'am an italian illustrator and cartoonist and I love nature and silence. I have lived and worked in Italy all my life. I have created several illustrated books and comics for various publishing houses. I have worked with several book authors.

In my books I have always dealt with themes such as personal growth, slices of life, but I would also like to introduce themes such as the relationship between man and nature, or nature itself.

My artistic research is strictly connected with the life I am living: beauty, poetry, slowliving, love for simple things. I prefer to use watercolor and gouache techniques. I like to tell about relationships between people, life in nature, happy family lives. My work isn't fast-paced; I need to study the characters and their environments. Empathizing with them is crucial to me.

I'm happy to accept accurate but logically meaningful descriptions. I generally decline works that don't fit with my aesthetic style, as well as themes that are too far removed from my graphic work.
