I go by the name C. Rod. Unalt and am a children’s book illustrator. I graduated from the University of Hartford with my Master’s in Illustration. My career began as a scenic painter at a creature shop, where I painted murals and large-scale sculptures for mini golf courses, storefronts, windows, and parade floats. I have illustrated three picture books A Bailar!, I Want to be a Bald Eagle, and The Big Bong Boo. My work has also appeared in children’s magazines and educational textbooks. My clients include Pinata Books, Capstone Press, Heinemann, Cricket Magazine Group, and Seed Media. My work has been exhibited at the Society of Illustrators of Los Angeles. I currently teach as an adjunct professor in the Illustration/Animation department at Montclair State University. I live with my husband, our children, a cuddly pup named Yogi and two mischievous kitties, Meeko and Lola, all of whom are a constant inspiration for my own stories and illustrations.
