Overview
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ "Bryony is a magician of an editor. She has the rare skill and confidence to really get into a manuscript, detect and even fix structural problems while leaving the heart and voice of the writing intact. It was after Bryony had edited my manuscript that I was able to get a contract with my agent and sell my novel. I cannot recommend her enough." Isabelle Dupuy, Author
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ "I’ve worked with Bryony on fourteen books in total, and we’ve just completed the eleventh book in my crime thriller series. It’s a joyful and rewarding creative partnership. Bryony has helped me refine my craft, both in terms of close-up style and big-picture storytelling discipline. She has a copy-editor’s forensic eye for detail but can switch to a reader’s-eye view and tune in to the story’s subtext and emotional impact. Bryony has not only helped me improve and optimise the individual books, she has also worked hard on maintaining consistency and continuity across my series. Her extensive story bible of character profiles and world elements has been indispensable in developing a complex ongoing storyline with multiple narrative threads." Andrew Lowe, Author
My writing career began as the co-author of eight celebrity biographies with Lucy Ellis, published by Random House, Virgin Books, Aurum Press, Ebury Press, Omnibus Press, Music Sales, Hannibal, Birmar, and Heel Verlag. Together we were called "professional storytellers" by The Guardian, "very professional" by Film Review, "immensely readable" by The Beat Goes On, "detailed" by Sunday Express, and "insightful" by OK! Magazine. As a ghostwriter, I have written for personalities from the professional worlds of music and sport, covering subjects ranging from anorexia to addiction and abuse.
I'm now a freelance book editor with over twenty years' publishing experience, and I love collaborating on psychological thrillers, crime thrillers, science fiction, dystopian fiction, urban fantasy, historical fiction, women's and contemporary fiction. Within non-fiction, I specialize in memoirs, lifestyle how-tos, health and well-being, celebrity, and entertainment titles. I relish working on series and keeping a keen eye on continuity, ongoing character and theme development, and plot arc across multiple related books.
Writing can be a solitary experience, and I find nothing more rewarding than fostering a creative and supportive long-term partnership with my authors, whether this is played out across a trilogy or numerous standalone titles. Whether you're perfecting your manuscript for agency submission, embarking on a self-publishing journey, or you're an established author seeking a fresh perspective, I will provide friendly, constructive feedback alongside thorough developmental editing and crisp copy editing.
