Overview
I am a children's fiction and nonfiction editor in Minneapolis, Minnesota, with a wide-ranging publishing background. I have worked on dozens of books, and I have worked with award-winning authors such Penny Warner, Sandra Markle, and Cicely Lewis, the 2020 National Librarian of the Year.
For nonfiction books, I have worked on countless subjects such as history, space, biographies, and animals for grades pre-K to 8. I help authors fact-check information, organize the text, and express ideas clearly for the appropriate age level. For fiction books, I have helped develop ideas for chapter book series. I have also provided editorial assessments for fiction and nonfiction books. For editorial assessments, I give feedback on elements such as overall structure of the text, plot, and style.
To expand on my skills, I got certified in proofreading by completing the General Proofreading: Theory & Practice course at Proofread Anywhere in 2022.
Whether I’m editing fiction or nonfiction, I help authors produce strong content and stories that are ready to publish. My goal as an editor is to help authors shape their ideas and make their books the best they can be.
