Barbara Cave Henricks is President of Cave Henricks Communications, a full service public relations firm specifically created for books, authors, and thought leaders.

A former journalist at NBC Radio, Henricks moved to New York and into publishing in 1989, landing a position at Workman, a publisher known for its innovative packaging and design. She then moved to Houghton Mifflin Company and spent six years as associate director of publicity, handling a prestigious list of authors such as Vice President Al Gore, astronaut James Lovell, Pulitzer Prize winners Tracy Kidder and Buzz Bissinger, poet Diane Ackerman, and novelists Ethan Canin and Amy Ephron. In 1996, she joined Goldberg McDuffie Communications and in 2000, help create and lead the company's division, Goldberg McDuffie Business, where she served as Vice President.

In 2006, Henricks opened her own firm which represents about 25 nonfiction titles and authors a year. The company has notably launched popular titles such as StrengthsFinder 2.0 by Tom Rath, The One Thing by Gary Keller and Jay Papasan, Global Tilt by Ram Charan, and Humans Are Underrated by Geoff Colvin. To date, Cave Henricks Communications has launched over 25 bestselling books, five in its first year alone.

Henricks has spearheaded campaigns for some of the biggest business names in business today including Jack Welch, Tom Rath, Larry Bossidy, Ram Charan, Clay Christensen, John Bogle, Marcus Buckingham, and Maria Bartiromo.

In addition to running her firm, Henricks speaks and presents on the media and public relations at events around the country including the Texas Writers Conference, 800 CEO Read Author Pow-Wow, Soundview Executive Book Summit, Women in Communications, and notably, in 2012, at SXSW Interactive. She has been featured in The Atlantic, Forbes, Bloomberg and Publishers Weekly.

A graduate of Indiana University, Henricks lives in Austin, Texas with her husband, artist Michael McDougal, and three children. Her first book, Mastering the New Media Landscape, will published by Berrett-Koehler in March, 2016.
