Analieze Cervantes

Analieze Cervantes – Editor

A freelance editor who specializes in YA/Adult--across a variety of genres. My passion is to help authors get closer to their dreams.

Overview

I am a writer, editor, content creator, and poet who resides in Southern California. I graduated with a Bachelor Degree in English: Creative Writing and minor in Screenwriting. I am a former Remote Associate Editor at TouchPoint Press and an Associate Agent at The Harvey Klinger Literary Agency.

Currently, I am building my list with Rees Literary Agency (keep in mind I cannot represent any of your work as an agent when you hire me to edit). I've been freelance editing for almost 2 years providing various editorial services such as content editing and proofreading to authors opting to go the self-publishing route. However, I've gained experience working for small presses that work extremely hard to publish talented authors.

I love working with authors who have a passion of learning the industry and are hungry to get your book ready. I am also an Editor who cheers you on from the start of our journey until the very end. I love providing indie authors with tools that can help them get their book polished so you choose to self-publish or go the traditional-route.

No matter where you are right now, know that things take time and that things happen for a reason. Don't compare yourself to others, but focus on you--on your goals. Envision that finish line and really soak in the scene. Everyone has a chance to land their dream and to make a difference.

My advice to you: don't give up, ask questions, learn the industry, attend conferences, join support groups and really understand the business in the best you can. There are so many people who are willing to help you.

Your progress is important for me as an Editor and I enjoy keeping in touch with you even after we finish our service. I think it's important for me to establish relationships with authors as well as be a guide if you have any questions about the process. I won't squash your writing voice or your vision because I want to make sure that your voice is heard and your vision is seen.

This is my second editorial collaboration with Analieze Cervantes, and it's a pleasure to work with her. She goes through the manuscript, line by line, points out error, both punctuation and grammatical errors. She points out sentences that need tweaking or more work, and is always highlights things she likes as well. Analieze also writes a summary of the entire manuscript with strengths and we...

This was my second collaboration with Analieze, and just as previously, her professionalism exceeded expectations. With the developmental editing work she did for me, she not only gave me ne insights and things to consider in my manuscript, but she also did a stellar proofreading, catching things that I missed after multiple edits. I look forward to working with Analieze again.

Analieze was professional, thoughtful, and kind, and offered good feedback on my submission package and partial manuscript. She helped me identify some pacing issues that I knew were problems but couldn't quite identify so I'm excited to dive in revising.

For a debut author, forging a path into the commercial publishing arena requires patience, persistence, and above all the guidance of a professional who knows when to praise and when to offer insights for improvement. For me that is Analieze. When she read my query, synopsis, and first pages, she discovered flaws I was blind to, pointed to certain details that deserved to be pruned, and suggest...
