I love working with authors who have a passion of learning the industry and are hungry to get your book ready. I am also an Editor who cheers you on from the start of our journey until the very end. I love providing indie authors with tools that can help them get their book polished so you choose to self-publish or go the traditional-route.
No matter where you are right now, know that things take time and that things happen for a reason. Don't compare yourself to others, but focus on you--on your goals. Envision that finish line and really soak in the scene. Everyone has a chance to land their dream and to make a difference.
My advice to you: don't give up, ask questions, learn the industry, attend conferences, join support groups and really understand the business in the best you can. There are so many people who are willing to help you.
Your progress is important for me as an Editor and I enjoy keeping in touch with you even after we finish our service. I think it's important for me to establish relationships with authors as well as be a guide if you have any questions about the process. I won't squash your writing voice or your vision because I want to make sure that your voice is heard and your vision is seen.

As an intern, my duties included reading and assessing queries (pitch, query, synopsis, and writing sample), requesting partial or full manuscripts for my review, declining manuscripts with personalized feedback, reading mentor's client's manuscript and offer editorial feedback. I crafted pitches and created/revised client catalogues. I also did market research on what genres and publishers were currently being contracted. Wrote up reader reports and pitched it to my mentor on why it was a book to pursue/represent. Join author calls, ask questions, and write up Editor sub lists.
