How do video calls work on Reedsy?

  1. How do video calls work on Reedsy?

Freelancers can schedule calls directly from their Reedsy inbox at any point during the collaboration. Authors will receive an invitation once their professional sets up the call.

Once accepted, both parties receive a confirmation email with call details and an option to add it to their calendar.

Calls take place through Zoomโ€”making them free and unlimited.

  1. Who can schedule a call?

Only professionals can schedule video calls.

If youโ€™re an author, discuss a time with your professional, and theyโ€™ll send you an invite.

  1. Where can I find my scheduled calls?

You can view, manage, or cancel your scheduled calls directly from your Reedsy inbox.

  1. Do I need to install any software?

Yes! Itโ€™s best to install the Zoom software to join calls with full functionality.

  1. Do you store audio and video of the call?

No. The audio and video of your call are not recorded or stored on Reedsyโ€™s servers.

  1. Is the content I share private and safe?

Yes. Your conversation is private. The AI-generated transcript is not used for AI training and is available only for your personal reference and records.

  1. What if I donโ€™t want to have a video call but prefer an audio call?

You can simply turn off your camera in Zoom and continue with an audio-only call.

  1. Can I share my phone number, call link, or calendar scheduling link?

No. Sharing phone numbers or alternative call and scheduling links is no longer permitted.

  1. What should I do after the call?

Nothing! Weโ€™ll email you a copy of the transcript, and you can find your transcript and a summary of the call on your project dashboard. This ensures everything stays documented in one place.

Here's a short video to see how it works.
