I provide copyediting and proofreading services to authors, publishers and businesses. I am a Professional Member of the SfEP.

Overview

PROFESSIONAL INFORMATION
I am a professional copyeditor and proofreader. I did my publishing training with the Publishing Training Centre (London) and qualified with distinction. I am a Professional Member of the SfEP. I specialise in fiction, music, business and management.

After studying for a business degree and then an MSc in Operational Research in the 1980s, I worked as a process engineer in the steel industry and did research work into Artificial Intelligence for an engineering consultancy. I then spent a few years living and working in Zürich and a short time in Paris, where I taught English.

In the early nineties, I joined a consulting firm and worked throughout the UK and Europe, managing teams of people on business improvement projects in the automotive, chemical, FMCG, food, energy and manufacturing sectors. In 2008 I started to do editing work for various businesses, so I decided to retrain as an editor and proofreader. I've been freelance since 2011.

I'm Scottish but currently live in Devon. My clients are located all over the the world. I'm always interested in new projects, to which I bring a creative and flexible approach as well as a meticulous eye for detail.
