Paula Williamson – Editor

I’m an experienced editor committed to consistency. If you’re looking for someone to clean up your commas, look no further!

Overview

I am an editor with six years of formal experience, and many more of quietly editing my peers’ papers in school. While studying English at the University of Delaware, I qualified to become a tutor at the writing center in 2014. There, I worked on everything from Freshman Comp. papers to grad school statements and PhD dissertations. While improper grammar always jumped out at me, the focus was on the piece of writing as a whole and how to best fulfill its purpose. After graduating, I went on to work in Maryland at Rowman and Littlefield as a production editor. Here, I take books from completed manuscript stage all the way to printing. Freelancers handle the nitty gritty copyediting and proofreading, but I review suggested changes from them and from the author to be sure that they’re consistent with the Chicago Manual of Style and our house style. And sometimes a typo or two will pop out at me!I’m looking forward to providing editing services to clients. I can wrap my head around any kind of project, but I have background knowledge in music theory and French.
