Nikki Ioakimedes – Editor

Book editor with 10+ years experience in acquisitions /developmental editing. Areas of expertise: travel; hiking/outdoor recreation.

Overview

Hello! My professional experience is mainly in the field of travel. I’ve acquired and shaped best-selling titles including Moon USA National Parks, and edited dozens of travel and hiking/outdoors guides, including the award-winning Moon US Civil Rights Trail. I’m passionate about authentic travel experiences as well as ethical/sustainable travel.

As an editor at Westview Press, I developed new and revised editions on the Women’s Studies list.

I have extensive experience editing and proofreading highly visual books, including titles with 150+ maps and 300+ captioned photos.

Regardless of genre, my editorial superpower is instilling books with a sense of place and feeling. I help authors shape their narratives and polish their prose so that their books have that page-turning quality and readers feel transported.

On a personal note, I’m the mother of 3-year-old twins. Parenting authors looking for an editor with firsthand experience in your subject matter: Please consider me!
