Overview
As a writer, I know what it's like to pour heart and soul into a manuscript, only to have it returned with a generic rejection letter and very little (if any) feedback or constructive criticism. This has motivated me to approach my editing projects in exactly the opposite way! I know that every manuscript I edit is someone's baby, and I treat it with the care and attention that it deserves--and that I would expect of an editor--while also providing thoughtful, constructive feedback. I think it's an enormous benefit for an author to work with an editor who also has writing experience. Let me bring years of experience to the table as we collaborate on your writing project!

Tiger Tales
I have been part of the Tiger Tales' team since 2012. My main responsibilities include Americanizing and editing book texts that have been published by our parent company, Little Tiger (which is now part of Penguin Random House), so that the material conforms to our markets in the U.S.; copy editing all sales materials, including ads, banners, and our semi-annual catalog; reviewing all reprints for accuracy as the publication information changes; updating our website in conjunction with the publication of our catalog; and writing book texts as needed.
Tangerine Press
During my time as an editor at Tangerine Press, I had a number of responsibilities, including finding new writing and copy editing talent, brainstorming ideas for new products, and overseeing projects from idea conceptualization to the finished product. I edited and/or copy edited every book project published by Tangerine Press. I also had the great privilege to write more than 20 books for children for Tangerine.
Hunter's Creek Middle School
In this role, I taught language arts to two eighth-grade classes. While adhering to the district's curriculum guidelines, I developed my own materials and activities with the assistance of my mentor teacher.
Pathways Private School
I taught a blended class of second- and third-grade students with behavioral issues. I was responsible for obtaining all of my own classroom materials. While adhering to the district's guidelines, I developed my own curriculum for each grade, tailoring the activities and presentation of those activities to the students with the help of a full-time teacher's assistant. I also provided before- and after-school tutoring when necessary.
Scholastic Inc.
In this role, I worked in the Continuities Department, which was the at-home division of Scholastic Book Clubs. I assisted with creating book-plus packages by brainstorming ideas for items and book themes for the individual continuities; editing the books and other written materials in the packages; and providing administrative assistance to the Continuities Director.
