Overview
I journeyed into publishing eight years ago after 23 years of teaching and sharing the magic of children’s books at universities and colleges. My role now as an editor is to weave together pleasure and understanding in every manuscript I touch.
My passion is deeply rooted in picture books, and I’m open to working on various themes and subjects. The rich tapestry of my childhood, spanning the landscapes of Southern and East Africa, North America and now Singapore, has profoundly influenced my editorial perspective.
These diverse cultural experiences have shaped my worldview and enriched my understanding of the power of storytelling. With each manuscript, I bring a global perspective to the forefront, ensuring that the narratives we craft together are inclusive, engaging and, above all, impactful.
Good editing is about teamwork, and I’m all about building a strong partnership with authors. My approach is collaborative and hands-on, beginning with in-depth discussions on the origin of an idea and then evolving through the exchange of concepts to enhance the narrative. Prepare to engage in a dynamic dialogue to refine and elevate your work.
I have overseen and refined a collection of award-winning picture books, including a title distinguished as a White Raven. Additionally, I play a pivotal role in organising committees for Children's Literature Festivals. My expertise also extends to hiring illustrators and guiding them from conception to the final artwork.
Let's embark on this creative journey and bring your story to life!
