Robin Pridy

Robin Pridy – Editor

Editor for award-winning, bestselling culture, arts, and environment books, for children, YA, and adults, fiction and non-fiction.

Overview

I believe I have a wonderful job – turning original ideas into published books that readers will love and cherish. And with over 20 years' experience editing adult and children's books, I also feel proud of how far some of these titles can reach – whether it's hitting the Oprah's 'Favorite Things' list to helping with bestsellers such as the 'Little People, Big Dreams' series and Caroline Quentin's 'Drawn to the Garden'. I work direct with authors and with well-known publishers such as Kane Miller, Phaidon Kids, Ivy Kids, words & pictures, Wide Eyed Editions, and Frances Lincoln Children's Books.

I aim to bring your best possible work to the table, to fit all your zingy ideas into the bigger picture, drilling right down to grammar and line edits for a good polish. I love being an editor, and I try to extend this joy to the authors I work with. Whether you are experienced or just starting out, fiction or non-fiction, I'm here to make your journey not only easier but more enjoyable and fulfilling.

Robin is the ultimate professional editor. With a keen eye and a warm heart, she shepherded my middle grade novel to its completion with keen insights and a watchful eye for major details, such as pace, timing, plot line and redundancies in description. Her ideas strengthened my novel and me as a writer, helping me dig deeper into the emotional plot points of my story. I would highly recommend...

Robin is Phenomenal with a capital P! Robin was collaborative, creative, compassionate, insightful and on time. She helped me bring my project to life in a way that I did not anticipate. Her brief involvement has given me the courage and encouragement to complete other works I've had laying dormant for far too long. Her cost for her service is beyond reasonable and does not even come close to r...

I’ve found a true partner in Robin. Not only does she exceed every editing expectation, but she has a rare gift for deepening my stories with suggestions that feel as if they’ve come straight from my soul. How did she get in there? I’m not sure, but I do know that her talent is one few editors possess. Thank you, Robin, for strengthening my voice and my work."

Robin was a delight to work with through the edits of my picture book main story and backstory. Her level of observation and critique was deep and thorough. She drew attention to little changes that made significant improvements in the stories. Robin communicated and completed the stages of our project with promptness, flexibility, and sensitivity to my crazy schedule. I hesitate to write too ...
