I am a highly experienced and skilled copy editor and proofreader. I have been freelancing since 2006 and my career has seen me work for major academic publishers such as Routledge, Cambridge University Press, Oxford University Press, Pearson Education and Wiley.
I am experienced in all stages of the publishing process from substantive editing to proofreading and QA (Quality Assurance – the final checks of a book) and while I specialize in educational non-fiction works, I am also extremely experienced with works of fiction and poetry in both UK and US English. I have completed a number of assignments privately for new and upcoming authors and I am passionate about the chance to help authors find their voice in the publishing world.
The freelance editorial world is highly competitive, however for over a decade I have retained my place in the publishing industry. This is due to my exceptional eye for detail and my strong work ethic. I have never missed a deadline in all of this time and have received extremely positive feedback from all who I have worked with.
I am often recruited by publishing companies and authors for substantive editing and proofreading. This has become increasingly popular with the growing popularity of self-publishing.
Publishing companies I have worked with include:
Out of House Publishing
Cambridge University Press
Oxford University Press
I edit self-published titles for grammatical and formatting errors. I am the sole editor at Novum and am therefore involved in the entire editing process from beginning to end books published. This includes substantive editing, final proofs, QAs, author queries, formatting and I also write the blurbs for the authors when required.
Daily proofreading of articles written for this popular website in Australia
Substantial editing of articles for the magazine
I proofread and edit educational titles in all stages of the publishing process.
Publishing houses I have worked closely with while editing for Out Of House include Cambridge University Press, Oxford University Press, Pearson Education, Routledge and Wiley.
