Overview

I am a copy editor specializing in academic and non-fiction works. My experience includes revising research papers for submission to peer-reviewed journals, dissertations and theses, and book manuscripts. I primarily revise writing in the social sciences, humanities, and business, as well as trade and gift books. My training in statistics and survey research means that I can help you rework those complicated explanations of your research design and results. I work with native and non-native English speakers and also consult on survey questionnaire development.

Before becoming a full-time copy editor in 2019, I earned my Ph.D. in political science and worked as a US politics professor. I have several peer-reviewed journal articles and a book on U.S. public opinion and the #MeToo movement, so I know what it takes to develop a research project and get published. I also spent a year working on energy and environmental policy in the US Senate for Jack Reed (RI).

I have revised over 30 academic books, and I currently freelance for several academic publishers, including Edward Elgar, Routledge, University of Michigan Press, and Myers Education Press. I also work for Summersdale Publishers (UK), copy editing and proofreading health, parenting, and wellness books. My website includes a selection of the projects I've completed.

I look forward to helping you produce the highest-quality product possible. Please contact me if you have any questions.
