Neha Patel

Neha Patel – Editor

Proofreader, copy editor and sensitivity reader who loves YA fiction, thrillers, and memoirs. Freelanced with Sourcebooks and HarperCollins.

Overview

I love digging deep into the details of a manuscript to help writers hone and polish their stories. Whether you need a sensitivity read for a high fantasy or a copy edit for a memoir, you've come to the right editor.

I have over six years of experience partnering with subject matter experts, production editors, published writers, and indie writers, providing clear, actionable feedback to get manuscripts from the computer screen and into the hands of readers.

Getting manuscripts reader ready is my passion. I have proofread and copy edited manuscripts in various genres, but I have a soft spot for YA fiction, thrillers, memoir, and romance.

Over the years, I've also conducted sensitivity reads for novels such as Really Good, Actually by Monica Heisey (National Bestseller); Notes on an Execution by Danya Kukafka (National Bestseller, Winner of the 2023 Edgar Award for Best Novel, and New York Times Best Crime Novel of the Year); and Carmen and Grace by Melissa Coss Aquino. It truly is a privilege to parter with authors and help them with their portrayal of Indian characters, religion, and culture.

While working with me, you can expect prompt responses and strict adherence to timelines as well as detailed inline comments and editorial letters with actionable feedback/advice.
