Lisa Molle Troyer

Lisa Molle Troyer – Translator

Sustainable florist & MA in translation. 20+ years translating French food, flowers, and fragrance to US English, in your distinctive voice.

Overview

Words are my jam (huckleberry is a close second). A well-seasoned veteran, I bring 20+ years of experience to your projects, with ATA Certification and a Master's in Translation and Interpreting.

I’ve studied perfumery with Cinquième Sens in Paris, flavors with ISIPCA, culinary skills with Rouxbe, and home mushroom cultivation with Milkwood.

I’m also a French/English conference interpreter for summits, meetings, and trainings worldwide.

When you work with me, I become part of your team: I suggest adaptations and flag inconsistencies so you can be confident you’re sending exactly the right message.

Clients often end up making edits to their original manuscript based on my suggestions for the translation!

And I’m also a farmer-florist at Thicket, where I keep up with the latest regenerative, permaculture-based methods—so I have hands-on expertise in organic farming and sustainable living.

Work experience

Thicket

Feb, 2022 — Present
On my urban micro flower farm, I keep up with the latest regenerative growing methods and advances in sustainable floral design. I grow unusual specialty cut flowers and native California blooms for wild and whimsical custom bouquets, arrangements, and floral installations.

Self-employed

Apr, 2004 — Present
I've been translating for over 20 years, including both published works and in-house magazines for French luxury brands including Christian Dior, Diptyque, Le Palais des Thés, Rémy Cointreau, and Guerlain. I get excited about food, floristry, regenerative farming, and sustainable living. Jennifer P, Editor, Insight Editions: "I really appreciate your careful notes and decisions—your thoughtful focus on the book-reader's experience." Kausaur F, Assistant Editor, Ten Speed Press: "Thank you so much for your high-quality translation. Both our team and the author are really happy with everything you’ve done! He wanted me to send you his compliments: “I am very pleased with the translation overall, thanks for the impeccable work.” Anna W, Senior Editor, Insight Editions: "I very much appreciate your time and dedication to this project. It turned out so great because we made a great team. Very much looking forward to working with you again in the future."
