David Kudler

David Kudler – Editor

Decades' experience helping authors—old hands like Joseph Campbell to first-timers—create the books of their dreams. (YA/SFF/Literary, etc.)

Overview

I am an expert provider of publishing services and consultant to independent and self-publishers. For over two decades, I have worked as a developmental editor, writer, and copyeditor, crafting fiction and non-fiction books and articles.

My mission is to help you give your writing exactly the impact you desire.

For many years, I served as managing editor of the Collected Works of Joseph Campbell. I developed new titles from the famed mythologist's recorded lectures and unpublished writing, driving the release of 24 books, 27 videos, and 70+ audio lectures, as well as blog posts, newsletters, and marketing copy. Among the most successful projects I undertook was the first new edition of Campbell's seminal The Hero with a Thousand Faces in forty years. I also created several new posthumous works, including Pathways to Bliss and Myths of Light, as well as the travel memoir Asian Journals and his short fiction collection Mythic Imagination.

For other authors, I have edited fiction, verse, and non-fiction in a variety of genres and subjects, ranging from science fiction and fantasy to romance to memoir to technology to philosophy.

I am also an author. In creating my award-winning young-adult historical novel series Seasons of the Sword, I too have worked with editors across all of the stages of the editorial process. This experience gives me sympathy for the challenges and insecurities inherent in sharing your writing even with the best and most sensitive of professionals.

I can't wait to help you make your book everything you dream it can be!
