Kirsten Irving – Editor

An experienced copywriter and proofreader, I've worked with a range of commercial and non-profit organisations.

These include the publishers Faber & Faber, Periscope and Myrmidon Press, charities such as the Poetry Society and Literature Across Frontiers, London-based creative agencies Razorfish and four23, and SMEs Jellycat and NOER Organics Atelier. I've written journalistic articles for Maker World magazine, translated speeches from German to English and created sharp blurbs for self-published authors.

During my time as a Funding Content Editor with university-focused publisher Research, I trained with the Publishing Training Centre on their Proofreading for Editors course, and received InDesign training through Mouse. I regularly proofed and edited web and print content for clarity, house style and accuracy.

I'm one of the co-founders of award-winning, ACE-supported poetry press Sidekick Books, for which I have commissioned and edited more than 10 anthologies. I also write press releases and updates and manage a strong social media presence.

As a senior member of Research Research's Funding Team, I researched, edited, disseminated and proofed information on pan-European research funding opportunities for publications including Research Europe, Research Fortnight and Onderzoek Nederland.
