Julia Fuchs – Translator

Hey there, I’m Julia. I’m a literary translator from Germany with a university degree in translation and over twenty years of experience as a full-time freelance translator. I mainly translate English cosy mysteries and family novels into German, plus the related marketing material (if required) and I also offer translation assessment, editing and proofreading services.

My approach? Translating ideas! Because in the end it’s all about what’s behind the words, about telling a great story that your audience will love. I'm passionate about creating flawless, compelling translations that are true to the original and read like an original, and I can provide you with a publication-ready German version of your book.

My professional background? I've been focusing on the translation of literary works since early 2021. Before that I mainly translated marketing and medical texts. I’ve completed quite a few cozy mysteries, two magical paranormal fantasy books and some psychological family dramas.

My personal interests? I love roaming the nearby woods and fields with my two dogs, listening to audio books, cooking vegan, going on trips with my camper and dreaming of living in a tiny house. Besides, I’m also a huge fan of photography and graphic design.
