Judith Strauser – Translator

After a first career as an bilingual editor and proofreader on the web, I went back to school to hone my skills and get a Masters in literary translation. Now I am an English-to-French translator working for book publishers & the press here in France, both in non-fiction (self-help, political documents) and fiction (YA, romance, LGBT, literary genre fiction, comics...). After nearly 15 years of translating, I look forward to many, many more thrilling projects! Translation helps make the world a better place.

I see every translation as an opportunity to serve a unique book with an authentic voice, and enjoy working with authors to find the very best way to express their authorial intent / style in a new language, all to allow their talent to shine and their book to find a new audience. My favorite projects so far: translating Kate Beaton's inimitable humor; a self-help book on mindfulness for kids; Gwen Cooper's story of a grieving New-York cat; Ann Aguirre's urban fantasy time-travel romance YA.
