Overview

With around seven years of experience in book production and being the co-owner and co-publisher of a multi-award winning independent publishing company, I have wide experience and knowledge in book production, particularly in typesetting and interior design. I have typeset fiction and non-fiction for a number of independent publishers (such as Charco Press, Knights Of, Saraband) and self-publishing authors.

I have typeset books across so any genres I may have lost track but they definitely include:
crime, historical fiction, contemporary fiction, sci-fi, erotica, short story collections, LGBTQ anthologies, feminist non-fiction, humour gift books, translated fiction, memoir, political affairs and more. My favourite to typeset are probably collections where some fun can be had with new stories/chapters but I'm always happy to try any and all genres!

My biggest literary claim to fame may be having worked with Man Booker shortlistee Graeme Macrae Burnet on the His Bloody Project ebook and I also typeset his first book, The Disappearance of Adèle Bedeau. I have been to the pub with him on a few occasions. He's a lovely guy.

Working with me will involve swift, clear correspondence and in most circumstances, a competitively quick turnaround, to allow as much time as possible for tweaks and perfecting your book. Testimonials from previous clients almost always include 'quick and efficient' so you won't find yourself twiddling your thumbs for too long!

Thanks for taking the time to peruse my profile, I hope we can work together. :)

It was a pleasure working with Laura Jones as she turned my pictorial book into an ePub. This is not an easy transition, but she was amazing in doing it.

Laura was a joy to work with. She was diligent, prompt, responsive, helpful and patient. As a first-time author, not only did I not know much, but I didn't even know what I didn't know. Laura guided me through the typesetting and final preparation process in a painless fashion.

Laura understood perfectly what I was looking for my book and translated it into a beautiful, modern and chic design. She was open to all my suggestions and also guided me with her expertise.

Thanks very much, Sarita. Best of luck with the book!

Laura did a fantastic (!) job with my novel, I could not be happier. I'm usually quite picky when it comes to anything related to visuals, but everything she did worked for me right off the bat. She even presented me with multiple design variations on some sections to give me choices. Furthermore, Laura was extremely helpful and responsive with any minor issues or revisions I asked for. I can't...

Laura was wonderful to work with. She approached my book -- a family genealogy story, designed to be shared with family members and not sold commercially -- with skill and sensitivity. I had over 100 images to be included with the text, each of which was called out with a placeholder number on the Word document that I sent to Laura. I sent the figures separately. The manner in which Lau...
