Overview
If you're looking for an experienced copyeditor or proofreader who is dedicated to helping authors publish the best possible book, then I'm your person!
I've been a full-time freelance copyeditor and proofreader for both trade publishers and university presses for fifteen years, and I've also worked directly with authors who want their manuscripts professionally copyedited before being sent to publishers.
I specialize in historical fiction, biography, and historical nonfiction, and I have the unique advantage of being both a professional public historian and professional editor, which I've found to be an asset when editing historical fiction and nonfiction.
I hold a BA in English from the University of Missouri, an MA in public history and scholarly publishing from Arizona State University, and I attended NYU's Summer Publishing Institute back in 2005, after which I worked for a major trade publisher before pivoting to being a full-time freelance copyeditor in 2011.
My specialty areas as both an editor and a historian are British history, World War II history, the Regency era, Victorian era, and the Edwardian era, though I've worked on manuscripts that span many different genres and subject areas. I've worked with many British and American authors, so I'm proficient in both British and American standard English spelling.
I'm passionate about books and helping authors achieve their vision for what they want their book to be, and strongly believe in collaboration and teamwork between authors and editors. My job is to help your book shine!
