Daniel Ford

Daniel Ford – Editor

Expert Publisher/Editor for 30 years. I set up the Two Dogs imprint for Penguin Random House and work on travel, sport, fitness and humour.

Overview

I have been publishing, editing and writing for over 30 years with Penguin Random House (Publisher), New Holland (Editor), IMM Lifestyle Books (Editor), GQ (Editor-in-Chief) and Independent Newspapers (Editor-in-Chief). My books have been published across Europe, Asia, Australia and Africa.

I have written a number of books myself so know how important it is that your words are cared for. I'll give initial feedback on your work to get it into good shape, then polish it up in the final editing stage. I'm always in search of new experiences to give my work greater perspective. I've lived in four different countries and travelled the world to watch sport. I've also tackled some serious fitness challenges such as running the 56km Two Oceans ultra-marathon and racing the Cape-Argus – the world’s largest participative cycle race – as part of Tour de France champion Miguel Indurain’s group.

Really enjoyed working with Daniel. He helped us with the developmental editing for a football history book, providing some very useful guidance at a key stage in the writing process. I feel confident that we'll end up with a much stronger publication as a result of his input. Good clear communication throughout, delivering on time and as promised.

Tim is an excellent publisher and a true professional. It was a pleasure to be able to work with him on this book.

Working with Daniel was straightforward - he completed the brief within the deadline. However, in the sub-editing process for which he was commissioned more errors were left than to be expected.
