I am primarily a developmental editor, but have experience in copyediting and proofreading as well. I will be credentialed from UC Berkeley Extension's copyediting program in April 2017.
I specialize in genre fiction, but am happy to expand my repertoire to non-fiction and the broader world of fiction, if the right project lands on my desk.
I delight in working with authors to strengthen stories, especially when those stories challenge the reader. Fiction is an extraordinary thing, capable of providing glimpses of perspectives and experiences that would otherwise be inaccessible to us. Stories have the power to inspire change. To teach, entertain, and enchant. It is a distinct pleasure to work on stories, as a result.
At Story Perfect, a Canada-based editorial services company, I am a junior editor specializing in developmental editing for medium-length speculative fiction. I have also served as a copyeditor and proofreader for several projects with Story Perfect.
I worked primarily as a copywriter, but was the de facto editor for a global marketing arm of the B2B advertising team.
The Warbler was first a book review blog, but over the years has become a catch-all space for a variety of author services, including website design, copyediting, developmental editing, and general coaching.
