Overview
I’ve been a production editor for five years. I’ve worked with hundreds of authors to bring their books from first proof to a printed edition for readers to enjoy. As a production editor, I mainly have worked with academic titles but also have experience working with general interest and trade titles (some of my favorites being true crime and history titles).
Through the production process, I’ve typeset books, hired and managed proofreaders and copyeditors, supported authors, and worked with other departments and printers to make sure the final proof is ready for publication. Aside from being a production editor, I’ve worked as a freelance editor for over nine years, proofreading STEM curriculum, editing kidlit, middle grade, and YA nonfiction and fiction novels. I also have experience editing nonfiction. Lastly, I have a past background working in education as a preschool teacher and paraprofessional for special education and various other positions working with children for over a decade.
I specialize in children’s literature (picture books, early readers, middle grade, and YA) but also have experience working with adult fiction and nonfiction. I’m also an advocate for promoting cultural diversity, neurodiversity, and visibility for disability in books.
