I've been a freelance proofreader for over 8 years working on new publications for academic publishers including Bloomsbury, Taylor and Francis/Routledge, Edward Elgar Publishing, Haus Publishing, Hodder Education and Sage Publications. A buzz from doing this work is seeing books I have previously worked on being cited in new publications that I am working on.
But that's not why I'm here. I want to use this experience and work on my passions which are sport and music. Don't be fooled by the dull photo of a slightly frazzled dad taking a breath on a frenetic family day trip to the zoo. Lurking beneath that exterior is a sports nut and music freak who has done his time at raves, sweaty gigs, loves several diverse genres of music stretching over 50 years from the Velvet Underground to Wet Leg and who (apparently) has 18 different genres of music on his Spotify playlists. I folIow a wide range of sports and have a good (some would say obsessive, but who cares what they think) knowledge of their histories. My knowledge of punk bands was a real help on the Global Punk book listed in the portfolio.
