Brenton Ables

Brenton Ables – Editor

I'm an experienced nonfiction editor and philosophy PhD cultivating great ideas in the arts, humanities and social sciences.

Overview

I am a writer, editor, researcher, and teacher with a unique voice and intense drive. My essays on popular culture have been praised by figures like former New York Times book critic Michiko Kakutani and filmmaker Darren Aronofsky. My academic work has been published in my field's top journals and presented at top conferences. And I have years of editorial experience, working with clients of all ages to develop and perfect written work.

While I have worked in diverse subject areas, my background equips me especially well for helping writers to turn good ideas and rough sketches into arguments, theories, and systems. Not only can I help you perfect a completed manuscript or essay; I can also help you build the initial conceptual architecture of your piece through the dialectical engagement of the editing process. If your work is at a more advanced level, we can work on fine points of style and argumentative rigor to make the text unassailable. I am especially well-suited to projects in the humanities, the social sciences, and the arts in a broad sense (including pop culture).

Unfortunately, the proofreading was not finished on time, mainly because he disappeared after I paid. After a while, he came to apologize . I was sorry to hear about his personal sadness. However, It's really helpless to suddenly disappear when I couldn't reach him. It's unprofessional. If I hadn't asked other friend for help in time, his behavior might have had a huge negative impact on me.

I employed Brenton to format a text I had. He replied to me that he would do some editing and formatting. The editing was done promptly but then initially because of illness in the household (meningitis) there was a delay to completing the task. I then sent him examples of formatting of similar texts to mine and he said he would take these as his model. Now after over a month I am giving up as ...
