Zuza Wollny

Zuza Wollny – Designer

A professional illustrator who combines classic techniques - drawing, painting, watercolor, cutouts - with digital drawing.

Overview

Born in 1989, graduated with honors from the Academy of Fine Arts in 2015, 15 years of professional experience.

I specialize in creating book illustrations, original posters, and designing and creating murals.

I've worked for publishing houses: Edgard, Nowa Era, Jama, Glowbook, Nuts!, Great Star (Shanghai) Media co.

I painted murals for: Google, Microsoft, Intel, Skanska and many others.

I approach each commission individually. I ALWAYS first listen to the voice of literature (in the case of book illustrations), a brief (in the case of murals), myself (in the case of posters). Then I conduct extensive research. Then I filter it through my sensitivity. Then I put it on “paper”.

That's why you'll see different styles and approaches in my portfolio. Each technique requires different thinking, different hand work, and different tools. Each project is unique to me. However, each of these styles is a part of me. I don't copy anyone.

I have developed methods of work and project organization that I'm happy to share - my biggest projects included creating about 130 illustrations for one book, and that's quite a challenge!

In private as well as professionally - I love books, my dog Marcel and my cat Max (which you can find on more than one of my illustrations and posters), all other animals, bicycles, tents, nature and challenges.

I cannot put into words the gratitude I have for working with Zuza. She is truly an artist and her skills as an illustrator are second to none. I want to write 10 more books just so Zuza can illustrate them as working with her was simply a dream.
