Overview
I enjoy collaborating with authors and coming up with ideas together. I love to scamp up initial ideas, then present multiple options that inspire the author or editor. My natural drawing style is with pen and ink. I like to give the impression that my illustrations are quite spontaneous. I cartoon in a quirky, doodle style. I'm very creative and proactive, and love to have fun in what I do.
Highlights of my career have included: Getting the first DK Disney book in the top ten titles on the New York Times bestseller list; Waterstones Piccadilly London, choosing my LEGO Architecture book for a total window display (around 20 meters); Developing the 'Build Your Own Adventure' series for LEGO, which has sold many hundreds of thousands around the globe; Working on Star Wars books at the Lucasfilm Ranch; Working at Pinewood Studios with the James Bond licensor Eon; and working in LA on Looney Tunes and Pink Panther titles. I also worked with American Werewolf and Thriller Director John Landis on his own Monsters in the Movies book. I have enjoyed making sets and directing photoshoots for the Shrek Cookery Book, Action Man and dozens of LEGO titles. As a Design Manager, I was jointly responsible for a team of 25 designers and editors.

Work experience
Self-employed
Since starting out as a freelancer, I have added to my skillset with some interesting new projects. I illustrated a Penguin Readers ELT graded reader version of the book Wonder by R J Palacio. I have also moved into textile design, using my doodles to create fashion prints - examples can be seen below.
DK
In my 20 years at DK, I have worked on well over 100 books and had input on over 500 titles. I started out with children's storybooks, then moved towards licensed properties, including Star Wars, Lego, Disney, Marvel, DC, James Bond, Dreamworks, and the BBC. Altogether, I have worked with more than 20 licensors. In the last few years I have specialised in repackaging existing titles for special sales clients, including Tesco, Sainsbury's, WH Smith, Costco and Legoland.
