I am a PR professional with over 17 years experience in the publishing industry and have worked at a number of international publishing companies, including most recently as Head of PR at Harpercollins. I have worked with a variety of authors and brands across fiction and non-fiction – from debuts to household bestsellers and international brands.
I devise and implement PR strategies for word-of-mouth successes, launch debuts into the market, grow existing brands and coordinate global campaigns for international publications.
I have a wide range of experience in both consumer and trade publicity--covering (practically!) every genre of fiction and non-fiction titles including science fiction, fantasy, crime, contemporary fiction, YA, thrillers, cookery, self-help, historical fiction and non-fiction and celebrity memoirs.
I have a thorough understanding in promoting and publicising across the literary and arts industry and beyond, with a wide network of contacts within both the traditional and online media segments, across culture, lifestyle and news outlets.
All my campaigns are bespoke, I read each book and work with the author to create an individual strategy to best achieve their aims. I execute all aspects of the strategy to secure targeted media opportunities. This includes drafting press materials, mailing advanced copies to book reviewers, pitching to broadcast/print/online outlets for interviews and feature articles. I am creative and engaged and explore all avenues to deliver successful campaigns with impact and individuality.

The Tumbling Girl
I was the publicist for Bridget Walsh's debut The Tumbling Girl and helped her secure over 10pre-publication author endorsements from the crime and thriller genre including UK bestsellers. I helped secure national and online media coverage - including a Sunday Times review, plus reviews magazines such as Woman and Woman's Weekly, as well as feature articles and interviews on Times Radio, Confessions of a Debut Novelist podcast, Explaining History Podcast and crime fiction journal Shots - as well as events at crime festivals including Noirwich, Bloody Scotland and Crimefest and Waterstones.
The book was selected by The Sunday Times as one of their best historical novels of the year and was shortlisted for the CWA John Creasey (New Blood) Dagger and won the Historical Writers Association (HWA) Debut Crown.
Cracking the Nazi Code
I was the publicist on this project and secured wide range of publicity hits including a double page feature in the Daily Express, an interview on The Times radio, articles online at SKY TV's and History of War magazine and interviews on BBC regional radio stations and podcasts including BBC History, The Second World War Podcast, Explaing History Podcast and The History of WWII podcast. I coordinated a UK events tour which featured bookshops and institutions including Waterstones and Kings College London, University of Oxford, University of Cambridge and The National Intelligence Institute.
Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine
I was the publicist for this debut title and helped secure widespread UK, Irish and International PR including media coverage in The Guardian, The Observer, The Times, Sunday Times Style, The Scotsman, The Herald, The Telegraph, The Daily Mail, Mail on Sunday, The Express, Press Association, BBC Radio 4 Open Book, BBC Radio 4 Book at Bedtime, BBC Radio 2, BBC Radio Scotland, BBC Arts, Red, Woman and Home, Good Housekeeping, Heat, Prima, Hello, Closer. I secured events at literary festivals and bookshops including Waterstones, Edinburgh Literary Festival and the Cheltenham Literary Festival.
The book was a word-of-mouth sucess and was #1 in the Sunday Times charts, an amazon Kindle bestseller, winner of the Costa debut novel award and the National Book Awards Book of the Year. It has sold over 3 million copies.
