Overview
I bring twenty years of editing, having worked on hundreds of projects. My clients include memoirists, spiritual seekers, academics, and creatives working in nonfiction, poetry, short fiction, and hybrid forms. These are first-time authors completing manuscripts, writers of personal narrative navigating grief and belonging through story, and university professors sharing complex research. As a published author of fiction, poetry, memoir, and academic scholarship, I understand what it takes to bring projects into the world.
As a writer myself, I know the vulnerability of handing your words to another person. I also know how transformative it can be to have the right editor—someone who strengthens your work without overriding your voice, and who understands not only the mechanics of editing, but the soul of the creative process. My approach is collaborative, intuitive, and deeply attuned to the writer’s intentions. I don’t merely correct grammar or suggest line edits—I listen for what the piece is trying to become. Whether you need feedback, structural assistance, or polish before submitting or self-publishing a manuscript, I’ll meet your work with care and clarity.
Testimonials:
"Tricia is an editor of rare talents. She has worked with me for a dozen years or more, editing works in Anthropology, History, Ethnobotany, and related fields. Most of these writings I have delivered into her care, knowing that each one presents its own challenges and cultural sensitivities. Tricia understands the many nuances of such material—tracking all the important details, navigating the sensitivities, waging patient campaigns against the customary technical shortfalls, and thoughtfully factoring each work’s intended audiences and venues into her editorial decisions large and small.”
—Douglas Deur, PhD, author of Pacific Northwest Foraging and Keeping it Living
“Tricia helped me combine stories, transcripts, and workbooks guiding me as I wrote, and she edited this book. I was transferring knowledge and needed help. In places where content did not flow, Tricia helped me preserve my voice. Tricia was my teacher and I became her Elder. The connection and appreciation between us was immediate.”
