Overview
I always appreciate the trust and nerve required of a complete stranger to hand over their writing project, knowing that my job is to search out and signpost errors, inconsistencies and awkward narrative fumblings.
I specialise in academic and nonfiction projects (single-author textbooks, multi-author edited compilations, self-published) and have been editing as either a freelancer or as part of my 'day job' since 2005. My clientele spans the globe, from the US to the UK, from Singapore to Kosovo. I've edited for two journals (International Journal for Educational Integrity, Springer Nature; and Journal of International Education in Business, Emerald), and edited and/or proofread several books in business and humanities.
I have excellent skills in comprehending and applying standard industry and publisher-specific style and reference guides, such as the American Psychological Association and the Australian Government Style Manual.
In fiction, I have enjoyed copy editing traditional and self-published novels in several genres, including memoir, literary, speculative, and young adult.
