Tim Baker

Tim Baker – Editor

I work in the food and drink space, with heavy crossover into self-help and fantasy. I like to think of myself as specializing in escapes.

Overview

In 15 years in publishing as a writer, editor, and supervisor, I've worked on more than 250 magazine and book titles. In close tandem with authors, I built outlines, found authentic editorial voices and shepherded each title through an extensive editing and proofreading system. One way of putting it is that I strengthen your story's bones and work with you to give it a full nervous system to go along with the heart that's inevitably already there. I specialize in food and drink, with editorial credits on more than two dozen cookbooks, but I also have extensive experience in the self-help and fantasy/RPG space.

I believe in your story, whatever that story might be and whatever form it might take. In those 15 years of writing and publishing, I’ve edited everything from parenting guides to biographies to poetry collections to memoir to short fiction to cookbooks to mysteries and fantasy. Each of them has told a different story in a unique voice. Each has gone to print reflecting that voice in a way to make the storytellers proud.

He also said he would help with future drafts, but I never heard from him again. I’ve been trying to get ahold of him for additional feedback since A...
