Amanda Gibson – Editor

I have been a writer, editor, and proofreader for the past twelve years, providing both developmental and copy editing services for a variety of types of projects, from trade manuscripts to test prep study guides. I've proofread memoirs, oral histories, and cookbooks for grammar, spelling, punctuation, clarity, consistency, flow, and more, and I also have experience developing and editing online educational material for e-learning clients. I understand the complicated and sometimes fraught process of bringing a project to life, both on the writer side and the publisher side.

During my time as Editorial Manager at Agate Publishing, I was fortunate enough to work on memoirs such as Fieldwork, Under the Henfluence, I Quit Everything, and many more. One of my favorite books to edit was The Art of Extract Making, a cookbook that required a keen eye not only for language errors, but also for design, art, layout, and measurement inconsistencies.

My managerial roles have involved balancing multiple schedules and deadlines, communicating effectively with contractors and clients, and editing deliverables for strict adherence to the project style guide.
