Overview

I strongly believe that everyone has something valuable to say. My goal is to help you get your story and message out into the world, and to have it reach your readers through clear, engaging prose.

I began my career as a teacher of writing, and that has defined my approach as an editor. Every editing project begins with a conversation in which I ask you what your goals and concerns are. Knowing what you want out of the editorial experience and what you hope to accomplish in your writing, I can then approach the piece itself with not only my industry expertise, but a firm grounding in your voice, style, and message.

As an editor, I don't shy away from messy first drafts, mid-process pieces that need some developmental heavy lifting, or press-ready books just looking for a final polish. No matter where you are in the process, I'm happy to listen, read, and help you make your writing shine.

I look forward to working and writing with you soon!

Working with Tenyia Lee has been such a blessing. She really took the time to work with me, as a first time author, polishing my work, and gently stretching, and pushing me to make it even better. I was nervous about choosing an editor, wondering if they could care for my work as much as I do. What a pleasure to find Tenyia. I believe she really cared about my work and wanted it to be the best...

Tenyia is nothing short of incredible. Her work is precise, and her knowledge of plots and character development is astounding. My novel would have been FAR less than it is without her.

I am so glad that we had an opportunity to work together because she has been very timely, transparent, technical, yet still had the time to search for my voice throughout my manuscript. I had the pleasure of watching how she processes through a zoom conference when I couldn't quite clarify a paragraph within my ma...
