Heather Sweet – Editor

Hello! I am a friendly, motivated, and competent copy editor, proofreader, and writer with over 8 years' publishing experience.

After graduating with an English Literature degree, I started my career at a journal publisher in London before relocating to a publishing house in Bristol, UK.

Having worked in both Editorial and Production, I have strong knowledge and experience of the publishing process from a manuscript’s initial submission, through the revision process, to its publication online, or in print. I have excellent communication skills and am adept at meeting deadlines and managing multiple tasks.

I will use my extensive editing and proofreading knowledge to complete an in-depth edit and/or proofread of your work. I will provide my feedback clearly and concisely, using either Microsoft Word Track Changes or PDF mark-up. As I work primarily with non-native English speakers, I am accustomed to completing a detailed manuscript edit while preserving the author’s writing style and tone of voice.

I am enthusiastic to use my skills and expertise to also work on fiction.

When I’m not editing, I’m usually reading (thank you to my local library for supporting my insatiable habit), crafting, out in nature, or writing my first fiction novel.
