Shaun Friend – Designer

Hello! I'm Shaun, an artist and illustrator from the UK. I have 15 years experience as an artist working under the name Craww and have exhibited worldwide. I have also undertaken commisions including character design for KidRobot and comic book covers for Pinwheel Press. With a love of literature and print, I hope to create beautiful covers that will bring your story to life.

My work draws from classical reference points, influenced by mythology and fantasy but created with a contemporary sensibility. I create worlds that are full of flowing lines, natural forms, characters and creatures both real and fantastical and I love exploring both the light and dark side of the imagination.

My portfolio showcases work in oil, graphite, charcoal and ink, I will work with you to establish the best materials to achieve a memorable illustration for your cover. A clear idea of the scope of your project, your budget, deadline and any ideas you may wish to include will allow me to provide you with an accurate estimate.

My process involves preliminary sketches and drawings exploring ideas and compositions and I will be sure to involve you at each stage before progressing to the final illustration upon approval. I am approachable, flexible and professional in my approach and look forward to working with you!
