Overview
Hello, and thanks for stopping by my profile. I'm a published, bestselling author of non-fiction (mainly). I've published on topics as diverse as the Knights Templar, gnosticism, the Cathar heresy, alchemy, the Black Death, and the history of disease. I've also published two books in the film studies field, on new wave cinema, and the work of Andrei Tarkovsky. I'm also a published, prize-winning poet. I also hold an MA in Creative Writing, and a PhD in filmmaking (and have also worked as a scriptwriter, and script doctor). My interests are varied, but include history - the Middle Ages a particular passion, as you might have guessed from the topics listed above! - religion, folklore and beliefs. I've also appeared in a number of TV documentaries, so am adept at wording things in an easy-to-understand way. What I can offer you are ghostwriting, proofreading, copyediting and indexing services. I like prose to be clear, concise, but memorable. I usually work on non-fiction, and academic texts. I've also worked with authors whose first language isn't English. At school I remember we had to study George Orwell's essay "Politics and the English Language", in which he offers what is more or less a manifesto for clear, good writing, and I always try to follow George's advice as much as a I can. My feedback is always constructive, and I will always explain why certain things should be done, in my view. If you have a book, or indeed, something shorter, that requires editorial help, then please get in touch and I'd be happy to take a look at it to see if it would be a suitable job for me to take on, and to see if we would work well together. I look forward to hearing from you.
