I'm a ghost that gives voice—your voice—to stories that matter. I accept two book projects per year, so you'll have my undivided attention.

Hello! For the past six years, I've been a non-fiction ghostwriter (memoirs and faith-based books, primarily) and an editor for any genre. This means your book will be in great shape at the end of your project. As a ghostwriter, the biggest compliment I get from clients is "this sounds just like me!" Half of my ghostwritten clients have been offered publishing contracts (a coaching book, a memoir, and faith-based books).

Writing brings me joy, particularly storytelling. Our stories are what connect us as humans. This is the reason I've written three books under my own name. And because connection is the primary reason we all write, I strive to establish excellent communication throughout your project.

I hope we can connect to "give voice to your story that matters." Maybe the one that will change the world!

"The journey with Cortney is more than words transferring to paper, it was an experience in empowerment. Her hands-on approach makes you feel like more than just a client. She is personable, professional, and left no doubt that she was the perfect match for my vision. Her level of knowledge and expertise in ghostwriting and editing is clear in the ease in with which I saw my own book get accepted for publishing and even after going to print, all due to her diligence. I would not hesitate to recommend her or work with her again!!"

"Cortney was deliberate about capturing my unique voice. She took on my story as if it were her own. Her compassion and dedication were accentuated by her knowledge of grammar and editing. Within one year of our start date, my completed manuscript was in the hands of a publisher. The results I had with Cortney as my ghostwriter are undeniable, and without reservation, I highly recommend (Cortney) for ghostwriting and/or editing."

Work experience

Founder and Principal Writer

January, 2018 – Present (about 5 years)

After ghostwriting books for two years, I made my business official in 2018. In the past four years, I've written eleven books, mostly memoirs and faith-based Christian Living books. Three of my projects are included in my portfolio since the authors agreed to divulge they had a ghostwriter: WRESTLING HURRICANES, BUT YOUR MOTHER LOVES YOU, and THE HUNT FOR HOME. The business book I ghostwrote in 2019 became a best-seller. In addition to ghostwriting, I am also an editor and proofreader, sometimes partnering with a publishing house in NY. I use the Chicago Manual of Style for writing and editing. On an ongoing basis, I ghostwrite newspaper articles, emails, and other communication for a local non-profit. In 2020, I founded GIRLSTORY, a digital magazine written by and for girls 10–14. Finally, there are three books published under my own name: a memoir, a Christian Living resource, and a mystery novel.
