Samantha Eades – Editor

I am an award-winning publisher, editor and publicist with twenty years experiencing working on commercial fiction bestsellers. My specialist areas are: crime and thrillers, psychological thrillers, women's fiction, book club, horror and romance.

I have worked at three of the big five UK publishing houses: PRH, Hachette UK and Macmillan. Most recently, I ran the Orion Fiction team, the largest imprint of the Orion Publishing Group, and authors I worked with include MJ Arlidge, Sharon Bolton, Cathy Bramley, Harlan Coben, Michael Connelly, Lorraine Kelly, Kate Mosse, Michelle Paver and Sarah Pinborough. I loved my time at Orion, but wanted to return to what I do best - editing books and working closely with authors - and am embracing life as a freelance editor and mentor.

I draw my creative energy from working closely with authors to help fulfil their potential and build their confidence. I am kind, collaborative and curious, and have years of experience nurturing emerging talent. I have been guest speakers at Curtis Brown Creative, Faber Academy, London Met, Goldsmiths, Harrogate Crime Writing Festival and Bloody Scotland. I have also mentored writers through the Womentoring and Black Girl Writers Programme. I also set up creative writing prizes for unpublished writers with eHarmony, the charity Gingerbread and the inaugural Orion Books x AM Heath x Crime Monthly crime writing prize.
