Thanks for visiting my profile! I’m Sally Collings, the nation’s leading book proposal writer.
In the last ten years, I’ve written dozens of successful book proposals. In the process, my clients and I have won a bunch of awards: 2013 Walkley Award for Killing Fairfax; 2011 Kibble Literary Award nomination for Parenting With Soul; 2008 ABIA Biography of the Year shortlist for Never Say Die; and bestsellers Sophie’s Journey; Fat Dad, Fat Kid; Bulletproof; and A Long Road to Overnight Success.
And for all that success, here’s what I’ve learned. No matter how great your story, your name recognition, or your marketing efforts, your book will live or die on the strength of your book proposal.
The only way I know to attract a top agent or editor is to craft a book proposal so good the proposal itself is unputdownable.
Lucky for you, I know how to do just that.

Availability:

I'm currently fully booked with projects through to the end of September 2019. If you'd like to reserve my time to work on your project starting after that, please send me a request.

Fee Structure:

For book proposals, my fee is $20,000.

NEW! I now also offer "book strategy sessions" for $2,000, to help kickstart your thinking about what your book should be, how you will find your readers, and what path to publication is right for you.

Selected Testimonials:

“Sally was an absolute godsend. As first-time authors we were stumbling in the dark on not only getting our story right and making it an interesting and compelling read, but also on the logistics and practicalities of getting from manuscript to publication. Sally provided such incredible guidance, from her executive review of the content through to providing answers and solutions to every question and need under the sun. ”
– Leonie Hull, co-founder of the Academy of Brain-based Leadership

“Sally is not only one of the most brilliant writers and editors, she’s a pleasure to work with.”
– Fiona Henderson, Simon & Schuster

“I will always remember our collaboration as a wonderful highlight of my writing career. I remember all of your amazing work and your resilience with a fairly determined author ... and how I came to trust you implicitly. You gave me so much and it was such a reward for me to work with you.”
– Pamela Williams, award-winning journalist and author

“Sally Collings came in after I had written three chapters in seven months and took the reins and crossed the t’s and dotted the I’s and asked the good questions that needed to be asked without ever getting in the way.”
– Shay Butler, digital entrepreneur & vlogger
