Paulette McGee

Paulette McGee – Editor

Copyeditor/proofreader since 1992, with both freelance and in-house editing and proofreading experience (nonfiction and fiction)

Overview

I'm a full-time proofreader and copyeditor (as Manuscript Editor, 2008-2017, and Editorial Production Manager, 2017-current) for the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging. During this time, I've continued to occasionally freelance as well. My freelance career started in 1997 -- and after a hiatus from long-term freelancing, I have begun to undertake more freelance proofreading jobs.

In my capacity as a production manager, I handle many aspects of the publishing process for The Journal of Nuclear Medicine and the Journal of Nuclear Medicine Technology, including copyediting and proofreading as well as adhering to strict deadlines. I offer a meticulous attention to detail combined with the ability to juggle multiple, often simultaneous, ongoing tasks on the production schedule (from querying authors during editing to implementing their proof changes to establishing parameters for the typesetter and following required style guidelines).

As a freelancer, I've employed the same attention to detail and care in seeing a manuscript from start to final product. My aim is to provide exemplary proofreading and copyediting on every project I undertake, ensuring that the work not only is grammatically correct and error free but also demonstrates continuity.
