James Wallis – Editor

I’m James, an editor and proofreader with over two decades’ experience in the publishing industry. I’m a professional member of the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading (CIEP) and a member of the Editorial Freelancers Association (EFA).

I work in UK and US English as a freelance copy editor and proofreader, helping individuals, publishers, and corporate clients make their text clear and consistent, ready for submission or publication. I specialize in non-fiction, in particular science and maths, but work on a wide range of materials.

My career began at one of the UK’s most popular educational publishers, writing and editing maths, science, and language books for schools. I later spent a decade at a trade magazine publisher, serving as editor of an international air rescue magazine (combining aviation and medicine) as well as working on health and travel insurance titles.
