Overview
I am the author of six books, among them "The Clothes Have No Emperor," "My Bad: The Apology Anthology," and "The Little Quiz Book of Big Political Sex Scandals." I have written extensively for, among dozens of other publications, The New Yorker, Spy, and The New York Times, and blogged for many years at The Huffington Post. My work has been anthologized in "White Noise: The Eminem Collection," "The I Hate George W. Bush Reader," and other compilations. I currently write the newsletter THERE IS NO BOTTOM on Substack.
I've edited memoirs by Norman Lear ("Even This I Get to Experience"), Carole Bayer Sager ("They're Playing Our Song"), Barbara Dane ("This Bell Still Rings"), and Laraine Newman's Audible original ("May You Live in Interesting Times"), which The New York Times named the Best Comedy Memoir of 2021. I also edited Andy Summers' collection of short stories about guitars ("Fretted and Moaning"), and worked closely with Carrie Fisher over the course of her writing career, editing her first book (the novel "Postcards From the Edge") and her last (the memoir "The Princess Diarist").
I am an excellent collaborator, pay attention to the smallest details, and my strong sense of humor will, if necessary, help to add humor to your work. I am also capable of ghostwriting your book, doing research for it, or doing pretty much anything that will keep the process moving forward.
