Hi, I'm Nicole. I’m an editor and writer with half a decade of experience in publishing, and there’s not much I wouldn’t do for a Double Stuf Oreo at the end of a job well done. I have degrees in creative writing (BFA) and English (BA), making me your perfect combo of hawk-eyed grammar guru and storytelling seamstress. I've worked with dozens of indie authors and publishers alike, including the Big 5, university presses, and niche presses.The devil is in the details—whether that be punctuation or story consistency. I like to work closely with authors, putting their goals and story ideas first. First, we'll collaborate first at a higher-concept level, and once the story is settled, I get into the nitty gritty of grammar. One of my greatest strengths in copyediting is that I know The Rules, which means I know how to break them, when appropriate. When the ink finally hits the page, it's the author's book I've worked on—not mine—and I want to ensure the end product is not just technically spotless, but something they're proud to have produced.
