Naomi Monroe

Naomi Monroe – Editor

Former English teacher, current badass editor, all-time fan of helping you level up your story! Content and Development editor.

A fiction editor with experience in romance, urban fantasy, and romantic fantasy. I'm best utilized as a content and development editor, especially for continuity and world building across a series. I'll ask a lot of questions, let you know when my understanding is breaking down, give you an idea as to what your readers will be seeing/thinking/feeling . This gets streamlined as we get dialed in on your story.
I'm quick with feedback, I provide the specific type of feedback you'd like, and even throw in a meme occasionally to keep things lively. Typically, notes are made using MS word "markup" you can jump from one comment to the next with ease. I was a high school English teacher for a decade... my comments often reflect that of encouraging suggestion. I'll occasionally make a grammar/spelling/word choice suggestion, but I'm mostly focused on the content or meat of your story.
I want to make your books be their best selves! I've worked both with independent authors and a publishing house. I've worked on USA today and NYT best selling books. Let me help!
If you'd like a quote or would like me to sample edit some of your work, let me know. I'm eager to work with you. :)

Naomi thoroughly reviewed my manuscript, looking at the overall story, the details of a scene, a character, a relationship, overall consistency, etc. She asked a lot of good questions to help me clarify plot points, worldbuilding, the flow of information/pacing, and to help me understand where a reader might get lost or confused. I appreciate all her insight, and the next time I need an editor,...
