Overview
I’m an editor and commissioning specialist who loves helping books find their best possible shape and their readers. I work across commercial fiction in a range of genres, alongside illustrated and academically published titles, and I enjoy collaborating with writers and publishers to make projects both creatively satisfying and commercially strong. This experience includes working across English styles, so do specify!
I’ve worked across every stage of the publishing process, from developing ideas and shaping manuscripts to refining cover copy, briefing designers and guiding books through to publication. In my role at Bookouture, I commissioned and edited commercial fiction in a fast-moving, data-led environment, using reader insight to strengthen storytelling, positioning and market impact. I regularly worked with authors whose first language wasn’t English. I have a thoughtful, flexible approach to editing for clarity and tone.
Previously at DK, I developed illustrated books for global audiences, working closely with designers and international partners to create visually led, market-focused titles. That experience—often rooted in art, history and culture—shaped the way I think about books as complete objects, where words, design and reader experience all matter.
I’ve also worked with Cancer Research UK, where I honed my ability to make complex ideas clear, engaging and accessible for very different audiences. I’m known for being collaborative, organised and calm under pressure, with a clear editorial eye and a genuine investment in the work I take on.
