Miha Brumec – Designer

Hello! I am Miha, an illustrator and digital artist from tiny Slovenia. I've been working on book covers for the better part of my freelancing career. Mostly I've been asked to do illustration work in the Fantasy genre, be it High Fantasy, Urban, Dark Fantasy or anything in between and I absolutely love it and have ever since I first read The Hobbit as a child. Add to that many years of playing RPGs and fantasy games of all types and you can see how my choice of becoming a fantasy artist seems more and more like an inevitable turn of events.

Prior to becoming an artist I studied History and English at the University of Maribor, only to focus on art after my completed MA. Additionally, I am also enthusiastic about various world mythologies, though I've yet to meet a history student that wasn't. That said, I feel this gives me a unique edge in all things fantasy as I can add that extra layer of historical accuracy, or mythological tropes and archetypes to my artworks. I am driven by skill improvement and always strive to hone my ability of transferring concepts, stories and ideas to the digital canvas, paper or any other medium currently at hand. Each project challenges me in different ways and forces me to grow as an artist and I absolutely live for it.
