Megan Staunton – Editor

Literary agent specialising in non-fiction: personal development, mind, body, spirit and memoir. Previously at Penguin Random House.

Overview

Literary agent with 7+ years experience specialising in representing, selling and editing some of the UK’s biggest digital talent, including Mrs Hinch, Paula Sutton and Grace Victory. Megan holds a degree in Publishing Media and English Literature and begin her career at Penguin Random House. A leading agent in her field, she specialises in commercial, self-help and literary non-fiction across the genres of memoir, mindfulness, interior design and midwifery. Previously at Penguin Random House, Megan pivoted to agenting at Gleam Futures where she developed ideas and secured publishing deals for authors such as Influencer of the Year Grace Victory, Paula Sutton of Hill House Vintage and the award-winning midwife, Marley Hall. She is a committed advocate for emerging and diverse writers, she's hosted writing workshops in partnership with gal-dem magazine and is a mentor for the not-for-profit group Black Girl Writers.

Megan is looking for expert voices, evocative narratives and authors who are unafraid to take up space. Interested in a range of non-fiction, she is looking for emotive life writing, stories told from voices that have been omitted from our shelves, and social commentaries on the things that affect our community today. She is particularly interested in books that challenge her perception of the world, teach her something new through fact or illustration and start conversations.
